Giving

Why We Give

The stewardship of our finances matters. All we have is a gift from God and how we use it is a tremendous-and often overlooked-area of our lives. How we steward it reveals how we view money. Giving is both an act of worship and obedience but also a way by which we can faithfully proclaim the gospel. Giving strengthens our devotion to Christ and frees us to live open-handedly with the gifts God gives us. Giving shows we trust in Him and His provision instead of our perceived self-sufficiency. As people of faith, we give faithfully and generously and it is a great blessing to God’s people to do so!

Where You Give

At ECC we recognise that God has blessed us in many ways and for a reason-to be generous to others. We are a Gospel centred church with a focus on evangelism and mission. We want to see the proclamation of The Gospel go out and change lives. Part of our strategy is for 10% of our income to go back out in missional giving. This is separate to our local outreach, evangelism and hardship fund. You can view more about some of these mission partners here, but we hope that not only will you see tithing/giving as an act of worship and trust, but as something exciting to give to!

Whilst the direction of our finances are overseen by the elders, practically they are monitored and run by a team of Trustees, presented with complete transparency to our church members and also audited by an independent examiner before being submitted to the charity commission. We trust this provides much confidence in how we handle our finances, together with a sense of excitement as to how this is being used within our church family, locally, nationally and to the ends of the world.

How You Give

You can give in various ways, such as via this website, cheque, the giving box at church, bank transfer etc. Our preferred method is by setting up a Direct Debit or Standing order. If you are a UK tax payer, please would you also consider gift aiding what ever you give as the church gets a further 20% on top!

A Legacy That Counts

We know that we can take nothing with us when we pass from this life. However, how wonderful to know that what you leave could make a difference for the work of the Gospel. Please do prayerfully consider the ongoing kingdom work here at ECC when it comes to writing a will. What you leave could potentially make a significant and lasting difference here in our communities and around the world.
